Spondylus is the Spiny Oyster shell used in the ancient Americas for jewelry. It was traded very far north, into the regions of the Southwest among the Anasazi.
These gorgeous beads have so much depth and beauty. Jewels strung each with a very intentional design and instructed Khadija on how much weaving between each. Only she can do this very fine, the thinnest, weave to perfection.
