Pre-Columbian, 1500 BCE – 1523 CE, Mixtec, Mesoamerica, Mexico
This ancient beauty has that perfect patina of blue/green.  It was made by the lost wax method.  It is incredible to see that the form and technique of creating it are so universal.  The intended sound it made was probably accomplished by the clanging against another piece of metal or another bell.  This piece most likely did not have a clapper.  Our silversmith did a fabulous job wrapping and reinforcing the end with sterling wire.

The bell has the expected age and wear, as we like it.  There is a visible crack on one side.
