1500 BCE-1523 CE, Mexico, Central America or South America
The most beautiful reds from the sea, worn and loved by people hundreds of years ago. The spondylus comes from South America and some of the coral could be from North Africa. Jewels meticulously designed the bracelet considering each bead. Khadija in our Marrakech studio wove the cord between each gem. Don’t let the photograph fool you. The coral and spondylus are SOOO much more beautiful with depth: colors of salmon, red and tangerine dreams.
One of a kind
Largest coral: 3/8 x 1/2″
Length: 8.5″
A note about our woven cords. We weave these by hand, every one of them. Like all Jewels’ work no two are exact, as each of us. The work is labor intensive. When warmed to the skin the cord becomes more supple, conforms to the wearer, hangs at it should; the bracelet transforms more than just a necklace. It becomes her or him.
