19th century, North Africa
A double strand necklace of fabulous branch and bead corals and the most wonderful silver trident amulets, collected by Jewels over several years. The silver trident charms are stylized representations of the protective hamsa, also derived from the image of a pomegranate (Eve’s apple) and the inspiration for the squash blossoms (naja) of the Navajo.
