Early 20th century, Berber (Amazigh), Morocco
Older objects of utility were always more beautiful than things are today. Jewels elevates simple objects but sometime there is not much that needs to be done, as for this lovely brass kohl stick. It was hand made to fit in a wood jar, probably equally sculptural. It is now long lost or maybe in another market deep in the old city of Marrakech. We made the woven cord and rondelle to hang this very chic object. This would be great for a man or woman.
