A Buddhist folk deity of rural villages. The Nat are magical deities that even predate Buddhism and are more common in rural areas among ethnic minorities. Fine sculptured figures, like this work, are quite rare.
This wonderful figure is wood with gold lacquer. The shoulders are cracked, as would be expected from age. The figure is in excellent condition.
