Early 20th century
These European made beads were traded in Mali, sometimes known as wedding beads. There are tons of very colorful beads in this shape but the black and brown striped ones as well as the white and bottle glass clear like in this pair are more rare. The very talented Khadija wove the rondelles to perfection in the finest weav. The hooks are sterling.
