19th – early 20th century, Ethiopia, Omo Valley
This rare type of amulet is an archetypal form: the shield or tear drop. They are worn for protection and by evidence of the wear on the edges and the hole, they were rarely removed. We have a very small collection, each will be listed separately.
We restored the back with riveted sterling sheet and made the wrapped sterling hasp as well.
