These silver amulets are often known as louha charms. They have written prayers and poems on both sides of the charms and are meant to protect against evil. The louha charm is more commonly seen as a doorway form, also beautiful, but this more rare type is quite alluring. It Jewels two years to collect this group. The last of this style, of course, was made over two years ago. It’s the slow jewelry movement. The beads are 18th century, Italian made, glass trade beads. They are semi translucent with polka dots and wonderful. Of course Jewels designed in on our finest hand woven cord, a light silvery taupe.
A note about the silver. The amulets are a high grade silver and therefore shine and sparkle through the etching and patina. The photographer came woefully short of conveying the true beauty of them. The image on the model is more accurate.
