The color of these beads range from light red/pink to dark brick . Spondylus, or spiny oyster, has been used in body adornment since ancient times both in Europe and the Americas. These beads are from the northern part of Colombia, possibly the Tairona culture. There are a few 19th century glass trade beads tangled in and we finished the piece with our hand woven cord and coin closure. It is simple and light and would be great layered with a chain necklace
