19th century, Mauritania, NW Africa
It’s been a while since Jewels has found a Mauritanian cut shell like this. While the shape appears meant for a finger, these shells were worn in the hair, thus the gorgeous patina. Our talented silversmith shaped the stering to the shell and used a wide band- for more cool!
(Contrary to the amateur images, the shell is purlely white and black/brown)
