Early 20th century, Tiznit, Morocco
These beads, silver and enamel, are very traditional among the people of the Tiznit region.  The town of Tiznit is often called Morocco’s silver city due to the Jewish silversmiths who moved in making it the center for gold and silver handicraft in Morocco.

This bead is a smaller sample of its type which is more difficult to find.  We split it and encased each half in sterling.  The tops are Jewels’ sterling clips

One of a kind

Beads: 1″ diameter; just under .5″ deep
Drop from bottom of disc: 1.5″

If the silver appears to have a red or yellow hue this is the fault of the photographer.  The silver on the original beads and our hand wrought sterling cases and tops is high content silver, sterling and gorgeous.
