World Trade Beads Necklace

World Trade Beads Necklace

Description

19th century

These trade beads, as most, were made in Europe.  The tiny white beads were valued in the plains of the US just as much as they were in Africa and Asia for jewelry and clothing.  The colored glass beads, also made in Europe, were especially valued in Morocco and worn as amulets, protective objects.  The necklace, designed by Jewels of course has other tiny surprises, placed just so.  This is an everyday necklace, though you won’t want to take it off.

One of a kind

Central glass dagger bead: just over 1/4 x 7/8″

Necklace length: Just short 22″ from coin to end of loop
